Read-only bank sync. It can see your money, never move it.
On Pro, your accounts update on their own, about once a day, through SimpleFIN, and Zedi never sees your bank password. Rather link nothing? Free runs on the files you upload.
Live on Pro. Turn it on in Settings > Connections & keys.
What SimpleFIN is
A small paid service
SimpleFIN Bridge passes your bank data to the apps you pick. You pay it yourself, and one account covers up to 25 banks and 25 apps.1
Read-only by design
SimpleFIN says all access is read-only: an app can look at your accounts, not touch them.2
MX connects to your bank
SimpleFIN uses MX to connect to banks. Your bank login is held by MX, or by the bank itself if it has its own sign-in page.3
Zedi gets a key, not a password
Paste a one-time setup token into Zedi and it becomes a read-only key, which Zedi encrypts.4

Zedi adds no markup on SimpleFIN and never sees that payment. See pricing.
Is bank sync safe?
No company can promise perfect safety, us included. Here is exactly what we can show you.
Zedi never sees your bank login
You sign in to your bank through SimpleFIN, and that login is held by MX, or by the bank if it has its own sign-in page. Zedi only gets the read-only key.3
The key is locked
Zedi locks the key with AES-256-GCM encryption, and the unlock key lives outside the database.
Very little goes back
Zedi sends SimpleFIN only that key and the dates it wants. No name and no email.
Read their own notes
SimpleFIN lists its security practices and past incidents on its security page. Read it before you connect.3
What Zedi stores, and for how long, is on the privacy page.
SimpleFIN vs Plaid
Many money apps, like Copilot, YNAB, Rocket Money and Tiller, connect to banks through Plaid. Here is how the two differ for you.6,7,8,9
How to turn it off
Two steps: disconnect in Zedi, then remove Zedi in SimpleFIN. Zedi can’t cancel access at SimpleFIN for you.
1. In Zedi
Open Settings > Connections & keys and press Disconnect. Zedi deletes its copy of the key and the account links.
2. In SimpleFIN
Delete the Zedi app connection in SimpleFIN Bridge. That ends access at the source.
3. If you stop syncing
Cancel your SimpleFIN subscription on their site, so they stop billing you.
Transactions already synced stay in Zedi until you delete them.
