- Give each line to a person, or split one line between several. The cents always add up to the receipt total.
- One running balance per person: what they owe you, what is settled, and every receipt behind the number.
- Tag a Venmo or Zelle payment to a person and it pays down their oldest open share first. If they pay too much, it shows as settled, never as you owing them.
- Give each person a nickname, a color and an emoji, so a split reads like your group chat, not a spreadsheet.
- Splits work from a receipt photo or a statement file you upload, with no bank link needed.

Before you sign up.
Do my friends need an account?+
No. People live in your own account, not theirs. Add a Venmo handle and their Venmo payments match automatically; Zelle payments match on the person’s name. Nobody else can see your data.
How do repayments get matched?+
Import your Venmo statement, or tag a bank transaction to the person, and Zedi does the math. Money from them settles their oldest open share first, and anything extra shows as settled, not as a debt the other way.
What does it cost?+
Splitting is free. Receipt scans are ten a month on our key, resetting on the 1st, or unlimited on Pro or with your own Anthropic key.
